Baby Welcome Boxes are one of the things that is a super fun part of pregnancy – companies sending you little surprise boxes of baby and mama goodies? Sign me up!!
All of the boxes aren’t always totally free though – some require a minimum purchase, some require you pay shipping, etc – which is great if the contents are awesome, but not so great if the box is meh. Not to worry though! I ordered five baby welcome boxes – Amazon, Target, Hey Milestone, Walmart, and Babylist – to unbox them and let you see what kind of things you can expect. This way you can see if it’s something that is worth your effort (and sometimes money).
Note, baby David was due July 2023 (though, he arrived a month early – more on that in a later post) and your box contents will vary a bit depending on season and what the company is currently offering so your box will very likely not be exactly like mine. This should give you a general idea of what to expect though and help you decide if you want to get each Baby Welcome Box.
The fourth Baby Welcome Box I’m diving into is Walmart!
How to Qualify for the Walmart Welcome Baby Box
The Walmart Baby Welcome Kit is free! There is one requirement first to qualify to get the free box:
- make a Walmart baby registry! That’s it!
If you’re like me and were already building a registry on another site, this is a great opportunity to build a family-only registry list to include those Walmart-specific products that you just love.

One note about this box before I dive into the contents: it took two months to arrive once I ordered it. Keep in mind, it was free so I’m not upset, but do plan ahead and order in plenty of time so your baby isn’t past the age to use some of the box’s items (namely smaller diapers) by the time it arrives.
What came in the box:
Feeding and Bath:
Diapering
- Huggies Special Delivery Diapers
- Destin Diaper Rash Cream (side note: this stuff was a surprising win; the cream is thick and works well)
Clothing and Comfort:
Gifts for Mom:
Overall, I the box was totally free so it’s awesome with that in mind. I would likely have been a bit bummed if I had paid for this one – both in that the shipping took a while and the contents were less than competitor’s free boxes, but free is free and I’ll take all the diapers I can get.
