Baby Welcome Boxes are one of the things that is a super fun part of pregnancy – companies sending you little surprise boxes of baby and mama goodies? Sign me up!!
All of the boxes aren’t always totally free though – some require a minimum purchase, some require you pay shipping, etc – which is great if the contents are awesome, but not so great if the box is meh. Not to worry though! I ordered five baby welcome boxes – Amazon, Target, Hey Milestone, Walmart, and Babylist – to unbox them and let you see what kind of things you can expect. This way you can see if it’s something that is worth your effort (and sometimes money).
Note, baby David was due July 2023 (though, he arrived a month early – more on that in a later post) and your box contents will vary a bit depending on season and what the company is currently offering so your box will very likely not be exactly like mine. This should give you a general idea of what to expect though and help you decide if you want to get each Baby Welcome Box.

How to Qualify for the Target Baby Welcome Box
The Target Baby Welcome Kit is free! There is one requirement first to qualify to get the free box:
- make a Target baby registry! That’s it!
If you’re like me and were already building a registry on another site, this is a great opportunity to build a family-only registry list to include those Target-specific products that you just love.

What came in the box:
Feeding and Bath:
This was the largest category in the Target Baby Welcome Box with 6 items:
- Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo
- Aquaphor – great for any cracked or irritated skin. (Also makes a GREAT lip moisturizer for mom!)
- Dr. Brown Anti-Colic Bottle – a good classic bottle choice! My advice with bottles is to not stock up on too many of any one kind before you test out and see what your baby will like. Every baby is different and likes different bottles.
- Philips Avent baby bottle – another great bottle! Bonus: less parts to clean than the Dr. Brown bottle
- Dapple baby bottle soap
- Boogie Wipe – these saline nose wipes are so so helpful – especially when it’s cold out and baby has a runny nose. Also great for wiping sleep out of their eyes in the morning!
Diapering
- Huggies Special Delivery diapers in size 1 – Love Huggies brand diapers! Between Huggies and Pampers you can’t go wrong!
- Water wipes
- Honest wipes
- Huggies wipes
- Triple Protectant Paste
Clothing and Comfort:
This category was full of some great items:
- Bibs brand Pacifier – this was a great small size for those early months
- Gripe Water
- Dreft Laundry detergent

Overall, this is a great kit and totally worth your time! Plus, the ADORABLE Target dog reusable bag is a 10/10!
